Hailey P. - Hi I’m Hailey P. I’m 16 years old and I attend Mountain View High School. I have lived in Tucson Arizona my whole life and I plan to move to North Carolina in a few years to get my major in Nascar. I’m looking forward to becoming an automotive technician hopefully in the near future. I am very goal oriented and spend my spare time enjoying my family and friends.
Rachel G. - My name is Rachel .G. I am 18 years old and I'm a senior at Cholla High School. I'm also a core team member in the Breakaway club at Cholla. The club focuses on alcohol and drug abuse prevention on our campus. I also work as the youth outreach at an organization called Native Images. I recruit youth for our teen program called Teen Perceptions and in the program we focus on HIV prevention and Substance abuse prevention as well. My hobbies include Dancing and teaching folklorico, Listening to music and drawing. I think it's important to be involved in the Befreepima.com website so that we as youth can help spread awareness to other youth about the dangers of under age drinking and substance abuse.
Mari M. - Hi everyone, my name is Mari M. I attend the University of Arizona and hope to become a doctor. Some activities I am involved in are: the Freshman Class Council, volunteering at a local hospital, and am a commissioner for the Pima County Tucson Commission on Addiction Prevention and Treatment. I enjoy listening to music, watching movies, volunteering and spending time with my family. I am glad to be a part of the BeFreePima.com Website and hope to create awareness and prevention among the community by helping to create a website for youth by youth!
Briana D. - Hi, my name is Briana D. I am working toward my Master’s in Social Work, and I’m doing my internship with Compass Behavioral Health Care. I love hiking, camping, baking, volunteering, and animals. I grew up in New York, so I love the living in hot Arizona. I am a part of BeFreePima because I want to talk with other youth about the realities of drugs and alcohol. I like the BeFreePima.com Website because it lets my voice be heard when it comes to the issues that affect my life.
Damaris I. -Hi, I'm Damaris I., I'm 15 years old. I currently attend Sahuarita High School. I'm a member of BeFreePima, the Amado Community Alliance, and have been attending meetings for FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). I've lived in Arizona for 15 years. I plan to become a Marine Biologist or a zoologist. I really like music, that's why I can't be without my ipod. I think it's important for me to work on the BeFreePima website because I like to be on the computer and I like helping teens to stay drug free. Also I'm aware that all these alliances will look great on my college application. I like spending my time surfing the web and listening to music.
Cynthia E. - Hi, my name is Cynthia E. I'm 15 years old and I attend Rio Rico High School. I am currently involved in BeFreePima, the Amado Youth Alliance, and the Interactive Club at my school. Most of my time I dedicate myself to school and getting straight A's. After finishing high school I intend on going to Harvard and getting my master's degree in law. Some of my favorite things to do are playing soccer and basketball. In my spare time I like to be with friends as well as listening to my iPod. "The Tenth Circle" is my favorite book, and I love to watch horror movies. I think it's important to be a member of BeFreePima and work on its website because it reaches out to those who are involved in drugs and alcohol, especially youth. Spreading the work and communication is key to reaching out to adolescents and young adults.
Tanya V - Hi, I'm Tanya V. I am a senior at the U of A majoring in Physiology (the study of the human body) and I will be applying to medical school next year! I am very active in the Arizona Surgery Club, my sorority Kappa Alpha Theta, serving on the Commission on Addiction, Prevention and Treatment, working in a research lab, and volunteering at Odyssey Hospice. I work at Starbucks and I love coffee! I also love to cook and watch cooking shows on TV. I think it is important to work on preventing underage drinking and substance abuse because we need to prevent this problem before youth have a chance to start!
